The IIDX:TE I BMS event took place in June 2005.
TE 1 didn't have any divisions, instead having 1 division
with both Keysound BMS and non-Keysound BMS being allowed.
The entries in TE1 were reviewed by 3 judges along with a public review
system (people could post a message in the forum containing their impressions
and reviews of the various BMS entries). Once received, all the public review
scores were averaged and then added to the 3 main judges' scores, creating
the final score for each song.
There was a limit of 1 entry for each person, but extra entries could be
submitted for exhibition purposes (These wouldn't be officially judged or
reviewed, however).
Because this was the first time, things were kept rather simple (no bonus
for making keysounds or background animations, for example), although TE2
would expand upon the setup.
Overall, a good time was had by all, with people looking forward to the next TE.
The judges in TE1 were Jadin, CStarFlare and Oddity.

The sad thing about having the 'non-judged' system is that people tend to
ignore and miss out on some absolutely amazing entries, this being one of them. The song itself is
just beautiful, done in a neo-classical progressive style. The note charts of all difficulties were
very well done, adding an almost keysound feel to this. My favorite Non-KS entry.
No place finish since this was an extra 'non-judged' entry.

This song is from one of the Final Fantasy games (8 I think). The old piano
sound adds a nice touch to this beautiful melody. Being a keysounded entry, note synch is a non-issue.
Since this is a piano-only BMS, the note chart is created in a way to reflect the playing style. This
song also features a very interesting another chart, as well as a full set of doubles (14K) charts.
Received 6th Place.

A really good BMS entry, based on a fast-paced song from In The Groove. The note charts
are fun to play, with interesting patterns. The song appears to end a little too soon, but
actually it doesn't... be prepared! There's also a nicely made BG image, along with a
'Miss' variation image.

The amount of effort that went into this entry is stunning. The author selected an mp3, cut it
up into good-sounding keysounds, and made the final result seem like an original multi-track.
Very impressive. The song itself is very fun to listen to, and the note charts are nicely done
and enjoyable to play. This is also the highest rated keysound entry in TE1.
Received 4th Place.

A high quality entry that seemed to be ignored due to being in the 'non-judged' category. The song
is a very interesting choice, an upbeat techno song from a Nintendo 64 game called "Tetrisphere". Surprised me!
The note charts have a Logic Board feel to them (noted in the readme), are fun to play and follow the
song very well, helping to create that hard-to-achieve keysound feel.
No place finish since this was an extra 'non-judged' entry.

Another of the non-judged entries. This is a good trance song that seems to work quite well as a
BMS, especially judging from the very well-made charts. They feature many interesting patterns,
and follow the song nicely. Note synch, as always from this author, is flawless.
No place finish since this was an extra 'non-judged' entry.

The chosen song is good, very dance-able, although the BMS note charts give off a feeling of inexperience.
The intention is well-meaning, but the wrong tempo being used kind of spoils what would otherwise have
been a really good set of charts. However, the effort it must have taken to place all those notes
where they are (considering that tempo difference) is admirable. This entry needs to be played,
if only once.
Received 12th Place.

A favorite 1980's-era song! It was interesting to see how the sound effects in this song translated
to a BMS note chart. The note charts are good, perfectly synched to the song. There's nothing
overly difficult, so this can be enjoyed by all skill levels. The harder difficulty charts seemed to
have more notes than there were actual sounds in the song, but it's still enjoyable to play.
Received 11th Place.

Another non-judged entry. I don't exactly remember why it was non-judged though. Maybe because this song
only had 1 difficulty (required 2 I think). This is another of the non-judged entries that need playing,
especially since this song does so much right. It's unlike anything else in TE1, very unique, the notes
are placed where they should be, the WAV sounds are optimized to full quality, and MC Dictionary's
pronunciation is absolutely perfect.
No place finish since this was an extra 'non-judged' entry.

This song is a remix of an existing beatmania IIDX song (from the "Diverse" CD series), so it's almost a
given that it would receive high scores. The note charts have plenty of thought put into them, and are
well-made, providing a good keysound feel at times.

The song for this entry is a demo song included FL Studio. It's an amazingly nice song with
a slow tempo (hence the genre). The note charts didn't really have much to work with, but
they get the job done, and are fun to play. The author even created a BG animation to go along
with this, and combined with the song, the BGA helps to set a surreal mood. Very well done!
Received 8th Place.

Famous for having some of the hardest step sequences in DDR, R&P makes its appearance in BMS
form with 4 challenging difficulty levels, including an Another-Another! The surprising thing
about each note chart is that despite the high difficulty level, they are all nicely designed,
and fit their assigned difficulty levels perfectly.

Eurobeat! People either really love it or really not, there's no in-between. This is a good
song though, with fun note charts in each difficulty level. Well-synched as with almost
every other entry in IIDX:TE 1. The BMS author tried to experiment with some different
note patterns, most notably in the another, so expect the unexpected in this one.
Well worth playing.

Say hello to the most under-rated entry in TE1! This song is a speedcore remix of the
"007" theme, and "Mickael Bond" is an alias for ChanG (Rottel-The-Moon, etc), the person
who entered this BMS. The overall quality of this entry is mind-boggling: The song sounds
great, the amount of keysounds used is enormous, the BGA is a DVD-quality AVI featuring
several well-acted out segments (a shame it doesn't show properly during song play), and
the note charts are fun to play. I thought this entry was the highlight of TE1. Unfortunately, the
other reviewers didn't agree.

Another surprisingly nice song from In The Groove, although it seems to be more Epic Trance than
anything Happy Hardcore. But anyway, this is a high quality 'seems like keysounded' entry from
a very talented BMS author. The 3 charts all have well-placed notes, and match their intended
difficulty ratings.

My entry! When TE1 was announced, I was working on a module
song and decided to see how it would convert to BMS format. Unfortunately, the registration
time had closed before I was finished, so I pleaded for an extension and hastily created
some 7-key charts to meet the requirements. This song has an almost Arabian-style melody,
and is rather enjoyable if not a little repetitive.
Received 5th Place.
